- This is the debut appearance of SpongeBob, Mr. Krabs, Squidward, the Anchovy Incidentals, and the Krusty Krab.
- Due to the use of Tiny Tim's cover of the song "Livin' in the Sunlight, Lovin' in the Moonlight", the episode was not released on The Complete First Season DVD. It was eventually released on The Complete Third Season DVD and future DVD releases.
